Temple of the Platypus The Legend of the Ambassador and the Caretaker

In the beginning there was nothing.
From that nothing came the Cosmic Egg.
And from that egg hatched the Great Platypus.
And the ripples from the Great Hatching spread, and created the Universe.
And the Great Platypus was all, and all was all there was.
And the Great Platypus was pleased.
And then the Earth formed.
And the waters and the land came to be.
And there was land to play on and water to swim in, and food to eat.
And the Great Platypus was pleased.
And the Great Platypus laid her eggs.
And the eggs hatched.
And so were born the Platypi of Spirit.
And the Great Platypus was pleased.
And it came to pass that Humans walked the earth.
And the Humans were without sense, and easily swayed by cuteness.
And The Great Platypus was pleased,
For there were creatures to torment and make mischief with.

And she called her children, the Platypi of Spirit, and said unto them
"Go Forth, be fruitful, multiply, and cause happiness and mischief among the humans."
And the Platypi of Spirit said unto the Great Platypus, "But Ma, we don't have bodies to move around with!"

And the Great Platypus said unto them, "What? I gotta think of everything for you?" And so the first stuffed Platypi were made. And the Platypi of Spirit took the stuffed Platypi bodies, and went forth on the world. And it came to pass that the first human met the first Platypi of Spirit. And the human said unto the Platypus of Spirit "What manner of animal are you?  For indeed you are unusual." And the Platypus of Spirit said unto the human "I'm a Platypus. Whadda you?  Blind?" And the human said unto the Platypus of Spirit "By what name are you known?" And the Platypus of Spirit said unto the human "I have no name. I haven't needed one until now." And the human said unto the Platypus of Spirit "I will name you Pete, for indeed you look very Pete-ish." And so was the first Platypus Ambassador was created. And so was first Caretaker created. And so was the First Pete named. And so through the ages has the Chief of our tribe been named Pete. And so through the ages has the Caretaker named the Ambassador.
